PUBG Rondo Guide
Rondo is an 8×8 km East Asian-inspired map with a dense city, karst mountains and heavy vegetation. It is in the 2026 ranked pool.
Why Rondo matters
Rondo arrived in December 2023 and is one of the four ranked maps as of Update 43.1, alongside Erangel, Miramar and Taego. It mixes a dense modern city with rice terraces, karst mountains and traditional villages, so fights range from tight indoor battles to long-range cliff duels.
Key areas
| Area | What it is | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Jadena City | A metropolitan hub with skyscrapers and escalators | Escalators help you move and escape quickly; expect vertical fights |
| NEOX Factory | A large car factory near the map centre | Central position for early rotations |
| Rin Jiang | Riverside area with restaurants | Water nearby limits escape routes – plan your exit |
| Yu Lin | Dense forest area near the centre | Thick cover; listen carefully for footsteps |
| Tin Long Garden | One of Rondo's notable named areas | Good stop on central rotations |
What makes Rondo different
- Thicker vegetation and lower visibility than most maps. Lower Foliage in your graphics settings and rely on audio.
- Lots of ways to travel, including boats, ferries, gondolas and ziplines in parts of the map.
- Circles are not enlarged to match the map's size, so rotations can be long. Find a vehicle early – the Blanc was introduced with Rondo.
- Secret Rooms that need keys appear on Rondo too.
- Cliffs and open fields mean height wins many fights; hold ridges where you can.
Rotation tips
- Leave the city early if the circle is elsewhere – Jadena traffic slows everyone down.
- Use rice terraces and walls as stepped cover rather than running across open fields.
- Rotate before the Blue Zone forces you; since Update 42.1 it hurts more the longer you stay inside.
Loadout tips
Carry one close-range weapon for Jadena City and one for range. The JS9 SMG was introduced with Rondo for close-quarters fights; see the weapon tier list for the current best picks.
A ranked game plan for Rondo
- Choose city or countryside before you jump. Jadena City gives loot and fights; outer villages give time to loot and an earlier rotation.
- Find a vehicle immediately. Rondo's circles are not enlarged for its size, so you may need to cross a long distance.
- Loot for both ranges. Close-quarters weapons for the city and a scoped rifle for cliffs and fields.
- Plan water crossings. Rivers and lakes limit routes; know where the bridges and alternative transport are before the zone closes.
- Take high ground for the final circles. Karst hills and cliffs give the best view over fields and terraces.
Late-game tips
- Dense vegetation hides prone players – check grass carefully and trust your audio.
- Throw smokes before crossing terraces; they are open from above.
- In the city, clear one floor at a time and use escalators to reposition quickly.
